Fund for NJ's Q4 awards go to NJPP, New Jersey Spotlight and others - NJBIZ

In December, The Fund for New Jersey announced grants totaling more than $287,000 to four nonprofits in the Garden State.

Trustees for The Fund for New Jersey announced the fourth quarter awards to New Jersey Spotlight, New Jersey Policy Perspective, Rutgers Center for Women and Work, and the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation at its December quarterly board meeting.

“The Fund for New Jersey is proud to support these policy organizations working to promote shared prosperity and opportunity, support public affairs coverage, secure domestic worker rights, and advance policies to end HIV/AIDS in New Jersey,” said Fund for New Jersey President Kiki Jamieson in a prepared statement.

Grants were distributed in four categories.

NJPP received the Economic Equality award, an operating grant for $125,000; for Public Media, New Jersey Spotlight received a $100,000 program grant; in Health Equity, the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation receive a $50,000 program grant to formally launch a statewide public health campaign about ending HIV in New Jersey and guaranteeing health care and services access for people living with HIV/AIDS in the state; and the Rutgers Center for Women and Work received a $12,800 program grant to report on conditions for domestic workers in the state, and to work with the National Domestic Workers Alliance and other state partners on developing policy recommendations.

The Fund for New Jersey trust aims to “improve the quality of public policy decision-making” on issues affects state residents and the region through its support of agencies of social change, policy analysis and research.
